Getting started
Is Seed Calc free?
Yes. Every feature is free. Ads pay for the app, and one purchase removes them. There is no subscription.
Do I need an account?
No. There is no account and no sign-in code. Your fields stay on your phone.
Is there an iPhone version?
No. Seed Calc is an Android app.
Does it work without a signal?
Yes. Every calculation works offline, and GPS measuring needs no mobile network. Only the map needs a connection.
Doses and products
Does it tell me how much fertilizer to apply?
No. You enter the dose from your soil test, your adviser or the label; the app turns it into products and bags. See NPK to urea, DAP, MOP.
Which crops does it know?
Wheat, paddy, maize, cotton, soybean, sugarcane, barley, sunflower, rapeseed and others, each with a common seed rate you can change, and any other crop by name.
Acres or hectares?
Both, plus square feet or metres, the South Asian land units and your own unit. Doses go per acre or per hectare.
Fields and seasons
How does it measure a field?
By walking it with GPS, corner by corner, on the satellite map, from tape lengths, or from the area you type. See Field area.
Do I have to create a field?
No. The Quick calculation works on any area; Save to a field keeps it if you want.
Privacy
Does it upload my fields?
No. They stay on your phone. The network carries map tiles and ads. See Privacy.
